.Track 1  Hey-Baba-Reba-Polka

An Oktoberfest Favorite

.

This famous polka is played lively with joyful expression. A special part for audience participation is designed to bring them back for more. The Tuba, Accordian and Drums play at a fairly quick tempo and bring in the vocals which chant: Hey Baba Reba. The lyrics are very simple and the tune uses the title as it's main repetative chorus. That sets up the familiar: ee i ee i ee i oh - ee i ee i ee i oh   chant repeating several times throughout the song. Whenever we come to that part, the band stops and leaves a very well defined break where people echo the ee i ee i ee i oh  chant with the band vocalists.

 It's extremely fun and invigorating!

Track 2 - Merry Widow Waltz Medley

.

.

The Merry Widow Waltz lends itself beautifully to be played alongside the traditional Strauss Waltz and therefore compliments this medley extremely well. The Merry Widow Waltz by Franz Lehar, begins this medley, slowly, sensuously, teasingly, in beautiful haunting overtones as it breaks gently into the lilting gay tempo of Vienna Blood. As ( "Wiener Blut" German) continues, it transitions and sets up the famous Blue Danube ( An der schönen blauen Donau ) Waltz. This magical piece completes the medley with the famous Strauss tempo and ends with genuine appeal.

Track 5 - Oktoberfest Drinking Songs

An Oktoberfest Favorite

.

The Staatliches Hofbräuhaus in München (state court-brewery Munich, also Hofbräu München) is a brewery in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, owned by the state government. The Hof (court) comes from the brewery's history as a royal brewery in the Kingdom of Bavaria. The Hofbräuhaus in Munich inspired the song "oans, zwoa, g'suffa" (Bavarian dialect for: "one, two, chug").

These German drinking songs are probably the most popular Oktoberfest songs of all time. They are sung every year like we sing Christmas Carols. Hofbrauhaus is the first most popular song and is played in traditional waltz tempo and is a sing-a-long tune, great for shunkling (arm in arm at the table, swaying to and fro, from side to side).

.

Trink Trink Bruderlein Trink is probably the second most popular German drinking song of all time. It is played in traditional waltz tempo and is usually connected to Hofbrauhaus song to form a medley. It is also great for shunkling.

Track 9 - La Vie En Rose Slow Waltz

Edith Piaf first popularized the song in 1946. The lyrics were written by Piaf and the melody of the song by Louis Gugliemi. This song immediately brings the romance of France and pictures of Paris to mind. It is played slowly with a haunting saltry gate and emphasis is placed on the accordian musette sound
